Folgers Jingle Contest

Folgers is looking for an updated version of its "Best Part of Waking Up" jingle. Want to give it a try? Submit your entry online between January 19, 2010 and February 28, 2010. Simply upload a video between 30 to 60 seconds in length which consists of an original musical performance of the Folgers jingle, which must include the melody and lyrics of “The Best Part of Wakin’ Up is Folgers in Your Cup.” Videos from ten semi-finalists will be selected and posted for public voting. From these, five finalists will be flown to New York City, all-expenses paid. "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi will help pick the winner at the live judging event in New York City. The winning entry will receive $25,000 and may be featured in a future Folgers commercial. Lipsynching is not allowed; entries must be new, original performances.

Eligibility

Each entry can include one to four team members, each of whom must be 18 or older and a legal resident of the 50 United States or District of Columbia. All team members must be amateur musicians, defined as never having had a music recording contract and not earning more than 50% of their income as a musician or vocalist. No individual may be included in more than five entries.

Judging

Ten semi-finalists will be selected based on creativity/originality (0-40 points), musical performance (0-40 points) and adherence to creative assignment (0-20 points). The ten semi-finalist entries will be posted for online voting, which will take place from March 28, 2010 to April 21, 2010. Five finalists will be determined based on the original semi-finalist score combined with the online vote total. All members of each finalist team will be flown to NYC for a final audition performance on May 27, 2010. Each finalist will receive a coach airline ticket, two nights' stay in a hotel plus $1,000 (the cash is for the total group, not each member.)

The five finalists will perform live in front of a panel of judges, including "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi. The winning entry will be determined based on musical performance, stage presence and creativity/originality. The winner will receive a $25,000 prize.

Online Voting

Vote up to once per day from March 28, 2010 to April 21, 2010 for your favorite entry from the ten semi-finalists. Each day, Folgers will award a $25 iTunes gift card to 25 randomly-selected voters from that day. At the end of the contest, Folgers will randomly-select a single voter to receive $10,000.
