What does the Video Sorting Tool do?
This tool provides detailed statistics on video popularity on any YouTube channel.
It retrieves general profile information about the channel followed by viewership and popularity
statistics for each video. Once retrieved, the list of videos can be sorted by number of favorites,
number of ratings, average rating, number of views, title or date uploaded.
Why would I use this tool on someone else's channel?
Once you stumble across an interesting channel with 100+ videos, how do you decide which videos to watch first?
YouTube provides sorting by Date Added, Most Viewed or Top Rated.
However, none of those criteria really indicate whether previous viewers liked a video. Top Rated comes closest,
but no indication is given as to whether viewers loved it or just disliked it the least.
This tool allows viewers to sort videos by the number of favorites,
the percent of viewers who favorited them (Faves%), the
average rating and more. Of these, we like the Faves% best because it lets us quickly find high-quality videos even if
they haven't been viewed by a lot of people yet.
Why would I ever use this tool on my own channel?
Channel owners can use the "Faves%" field to find videos that receive a high number of favorites even if their
viewer count is low. The owners can then implement strategies to raise the viewer count.
