Natalie Douglas - Lena Horne Tribute

Natalie Douglas is a seven-time MAC Award Winner, a Nightlife Award Winner and a Backstage Bistro Award Winner whose concert appearances include Birdland Jazz Club as part of Jim Caruso’s Broadway @ Birdland series, Feinstein’s at the Regency, The Kennedy Center and many of The Mabel Mercer Foundation’s Cabaret Conventions across the U.S. and in London. She’s opened three new shows in the past year - To Lena…a Tribute to the Lady & Her Music, The Heart of The Matter, and A Change Is Gonna Come.

As an actor, she has appeared in 18 editions of The Atrainplays and in The People vs. Mona, a new work by the writers of Pumpboys & Dinettes. Natalie made her feature debut in the horror film, The Camera’s Eye, appeared in the ABC series Cupid, a national commercial for the Broadway show Mary Poppins, and can also be seen with her gorgeous husband, showing off the good education her parents paid for on The Discovery Channel’s Cash Cab.

Natalie's second CD, "To Nina…Live At Birdland", was released to critical acclaim and selections from that CD and her first, "Not That Different", continue to be heard on NPR, Sirius and XM Radio. She also appears on "Fine and Dandy" for PS Classics and "Broadway By The Year: 1940" on Bayview Records.

On November 23, 2009, Natalie, her music director Mark Hartman and her band of Broadway All-Stars brought her new show, "To Lena...a tribute to The Lady and Her Music" to the Birdland stage in front of a packed house. Saadi Zain was on bass and Joe Choroszewski on drums. Video excerpts from the show are featured below.
