Mara Jill Herman is a performer, writer and native New Yorker living in Manhattan.

She hit the road with the North American Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar starring Ted Neeley and more recently sailed the high seas to South America and Antarctica as the Lead Vocalist in Showroom at Sea for Holland America/ Stiletto Entertainment. Blessed to have covered the Western Hemisphere, Mara looks forward to seeing the rest of the world.

A graduate of The University of the Arts, with a BFA in Musical Theater, Mara worked on many productions in Philadelphia including Nerds (PTC), Side By Side By Sondheim (WST) and Debbie Does Dallas (Philly Fringe). Other favorite credits: Baby (Lizzie), Songs For A New World (Woman #2), All Shook Up (Miss Sandra), Guys & Dolls (Adelaide) and Love's Labour's Lost (Maria). She has been featured in many new works around the city at Playwrights Horizons, New World Stages, York Theatre Company, Prospect Theater Company and various readings at NYU's Musical Theater Graduate Writing Program.

In the studio, Mara has recorded for composers Scott Alan, Julia Meinwald and Tony Bisbano. She also lent her vocals to the web series The Battery's Down and Stage Stars Records Mamma Mia and West Side Story. Mara's other collaborations include the songwriters Ryan Scott Oliver, Joey Contreras, Zoe Sarnak and Katie Thompson.
