Growing up is hard for everyone. However,
young people who are gay, who think they might be gay or who are perceived to be gay often have a
particularly difficult time. In the past several months, at least nine young men have killed themselves
after being bullied about their perceived sexual orientation.
Columnist Dan Savage recently started the It Gets Better Project to build a collection of
online personal stories that encourage young people to stick it out. Yes, growing up can be very rough

Broadway Sings for the Trevor Project - "It Gets Better"
In October, 2010, songwriters Jay Kuo and Blair Shepard enlisted top Broadway performers to sing
their new song "It Gets Better." They recorded the song and made it available for purchase on
iTunes for $.99. All download proceeds benefit the Trevor Project.
