Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel - Sorta Love Songs

Scott Burkell (book and lyrics) and Paul Loesel’s (music) songs have been performed at Carnegie Hall (“Michael Feinstein: Now and Then” Series), Lincoln Center (“American Songbook Series”), Joe’s Pub, Birdland, Symphony Space, and the Chicago Humanities Festival. Their songs have been premiered by Kristin Chenoweth (Carnegie Hall), Rebecca Luker (the Kennedy Center), Marin Mazzie, Jason Danieley, Susan Egan, and Liz Callaway.

On September 21, 2009, Burkell and Loesel held a musical revue, Sorta Love Songs at Birdland in New York City. All of the videos on this page are excerpts from that concert.

Burkell and Loesel assembled an all-star cast of performers for their show, including:

Sebastian Arcelus has appeared on Broadway in Rent, Good Vibrations, Wicked and Jersey Boys. He married his Wicked co-star, Stephanie J. Block, in 2007.

Stephanie J. Block's Broadway credits include The Boy From Oz, Wicked, The Pirate Queen and 9 to 5. She is married to Sebastian Arcelus.

Jason Danieley has performed a number of times on Broadway in shows such as Candide, The Full Monty and Curtains. He is married to and often performs in concert with Marin Mazzie.

Lisa Howard's Broadway credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, South Pacific and 9 to 5.

Marin Mazzie has appeared on Broadway in Big River, Into the Woods, Passion, Ragtime, Kiss Me Kate, Man of La Mancha, Spamalot and Enron. She's won a Best Actress Tony Award and received two other nominations. She is married to Jason Danieley.

Daniel Reichard made his Broadway debut in a starring role in Jersey Boys. He's also played the title role in the New York City Opera production of Candide.
