Andre Catrini - A Little Self-Indulgent Music

Andre Catrini is a senior at Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), majoring in Musical Theatre. Originally from Katonah, New York, he has had a lifelong fascination with theatre and music, performing in local productions and theatre workshops from the age of five.

In high school he began piano lessons to learn to accompany himself when singing, which then ignited a new passion for composing original works. In March 2009, Andre presented A Little Self Indulgent Music, a concert of his songs performed by fellow students and staff of CCM, as well as The Case, a new musical workshopped in May, serving as composer and musical director. In January 2010, he premiered a new all-male song cycle, Whisper, Love, also at CCM. A Cast Recording of Whisper, Love was recorded in March and is pending distribution. The recording session was filmed, however, and broadcast over the Internet. The album contains all eleven songs from the show as well as three bonus tracks from another musical. In May, a concert of new material was presented as EXERCISES: Songs From Unwritten Musicals. Other works include two original musicals, Little Sun and The Six.

In August 2010, Andre attended the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project, with master teachers Craig Carnelia, Andrew Lippa and Lari White.
