Gabriel Lopez

Gabriel Lopez is a graduate of Ohio State University, with a major in Vocal Performance. Gabe was born and raised in Germantown, MD and always had a flare for performance, but didn't discover his passion for music until he took voice lessons during his second semester at college. At that point he began his self discovery through music.

After performing in productions at Montgomery College in Maryland, including Oliver!, Showtunes: A Jerry Herman Music Review, Steel Pier, Damn Yankees (Smokey), and Urinetown (Tiny Tom), Gabe transferred to Ohio State University to further his education in musical theatre and opera. He has performed in The Magic Flute and Tim Rice & Elton John's Aida (Mereb) since attending OSU in 2007.

Gabe worked with other music students to establish a student organization, the Young Musician's Charitable Organization (The YMCO), to create more performance opportunities for young performers and to use their musical abilities to benefit local charities. In Fall 2008, the YMCO performed A Night of Music by John Bucchino benefiting Nationwide Children's Hospital to much success.

In Spring 2009, Gabe performed in Godspell as Jeffrey with the OSU Theatre Department. In 2010, Gabe won BroadwaySpace.com's national "Broadway's Next Big Star" competition.

In the long term, Gabe wants to continue performing and making music of all kinds. Whether under the bright lights of Broadway, or in a hole-in-the-wall cafe, he wants to pursue his dream of performing.
