Alex Brightman
While most of the other 7 year old boys played baseball and cops and robbers,
Alex Brightman was dancing to Gloria Estefan on the fireplace mantle in his family room.
It was at this point that Alex knew he was different.
Growing up on Aerosmith, Billy Ocean, and Utopia, Alex gained a huge appreciation for true vocal rock and roll.
At the same time, he saw his first Broadway show, CATS, which made him want to die.
It wasn't until the next night, when he saw THE WHO'S TOMMY, that he was hooked and wanted to make stage his permanent home.
Now, just passed the legal drinking age and freshly dropped out of NYU,
Alex is proud to say he is making a small (and hopefully growing) career out of what he loves to do.
Alex played the role of Posner in the West Coast Premiere of THE HISTORY BOYS at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.
Upon his return to New York, he was cast in the history-making, record-breaking, GLORY DAYS
on Broadway at The Circle in the Square Theatre.
Alex is currently and eagerly waiting the airing of his new television sketch series,
IMPORTANT THINGS W/ DEMETRI MARTIN on Comedy Central in which he plays a featured role.
But before Alex arrives on your TV screens, he's thankful that Broadway has decided to give him another shot.
Alex took over the role of Boq in WICKED on Broadway starting November 4th, 2008.
In summation, Alex feels incredibly fortunate for all of the amazing opportunities he has been given
and hopes that he is able to continue to trick people into giving him jobs.
Fo shizzle.
